So I am picking up a Ryzen 1700x soon and have come down to 2 different motherboards but don't know which to choose.

A ASUS Prime X370-Pro

or

A Asrock X370 Killer
link: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16813157769

I hope to pair it with this RAM:https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=HW6BCBEEB6RY7QMKRS5P

Overclock is a maybe for me since I don't know exactly if I can or not but, maybe boost the 1700x to its 3.8Ghz, maybe to the full 4.0 in the future. Also I want to keep my current Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo to put on either of these. Although I'm not sure if I can.

Please any help is great, as I have heard various response on how Ryzen chips are being picky or bios for motherboards are iffy with compatibility. And although I am not future proofing, I would like my rig to last another 4 years or so like this last one has.

UPDATE:
I did not mention that this is all for replace my current system parts. Such as CPU, RAM, and the motherboard. I also have a GTX 1070 if that is important in determining the motherboard. The replacement is due to the fact that I am streaming more, playing more intense game, and doing work and school work using Adobe programs.

As this is replacing the other 3 parts, I do not need any of the other essentials such as OS, monitors, keyboards, etc.

The budget for these 3 parts I am planning around $600.

Please let me know if I left any crucial information out.

Solution
Not much diff with 3200, not worth the price hike imo, $20 is too much for 200Mhz.

Sorry, I'll update this post in a sec. But mainly I am replacing current parts. This PC is being used currently and will continue to be used for streaming, gaming, and adobe editing.

Like stated above, the only things I need are RAM, CPU, and MOBO. I am currently using WIN 10.

And my budget is sitting around $600 for these three parts, it'll probably go over a bit sadly. But the margin of over is small enough that I deem ok.

Once overclocked theres no difference between the 1700 & x (apart from you get a free cooler)

You can use the evo , you need to go to the cooler master website & order a free bracket.

the 212 cooler for a 1700X is a terrible idea. its simply not a power cooler. get the cryorig r1 ultimate. the 500R[nice case BTW] will support it. if u r gonna be using just one GPU, a b350 mobo like the gigabyte gaming 3 b350 is enough. @Lucky SLS, incorrect, the 212 evo is still a great cooler for the 1700x with a moderate overclock, the R1 is a completely silly investment, overpriced for the performance that it offers. Its on 10nm remember. EDIT: OOPS!
Accidentally made an i7 list, mb. See here.

My 5c worth, don't get 3000mhz ram, Ryzen doesn't have the dividers to fully support it, it will end up running at a max speed of 2933mhz, get 3200mhz which is the current sweet spot for Ryzen and will eventually run at 3200mhz.

Any main differences from the two motherboards you've suggested? Other than price of course lol.

Also may jump up to 3200mhz ram with everyones suggestions.

It's a possible idea for an overclock in the future. But hopefully by then I'll be planning on getting a watercooling system put in. But for now i really plan on keeping the Evo

The pro 4 is a fairly bare featured board mate, a good board but nothing fancy.
I own it ,had no issues overclokcing a 1700 to 4.1ghz on it.
That is a very good price & it will do the job - Ill be honest though & say my only real reason for going for it was for a white colour co-ordinated build.

If colour was not tht important I woul dhave bought the fatality k4 instead

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CczZxr/asrock-fatal1ty-ab350-gaming-k4-atx-quad-cpu-am4-motherboard-fatal1ty-ab350-gaming-k4

That said for under $100 on a straight quality & power delivery front the pro 4 is imo the best

So if color wasn't an issue. Should I go for the fatality or x370 killer? Need my RAM at is 3200mhz or 3000mhz mark and CPU to reach maybe 3.8ghz or so. I need to be able to reach good speeds as this PC is gonna be used for gaming, streaming, and work editing.

Alright so this should be the build then. I think its right. Should all work out good right?

Solution

True, but rather be safer and getting the slight boost. But I'll decide that on my own.

Thanks for all the help!
