Hi all ,
I bought my current pc just over a year ago , since then i have replaced the GPU , PSU , case fans , case and added a sound card etc.
So ive taken out enough ( except MB and CPU) components to make a second computer just for the mrs and kids for web browsing and there low end games (bejeweled etc ),
Also i want to put world of warcraft on it incase my main PC has problems or i have friends over to play wow.
My question is , i have a gigabyte Z270-HD3 motherboard and i7 7700(non k) chip in my main pc.
Is that fine for the next few years for my main pc and should i get a budget MB and CPU for the second PC , or should i upgrade my main PC and use the existing ones for the second PC?
I didnt want to spend alot .
Thanks Mark

What you have now is practically dead platform which would be next to impossible to upgrade for any reasonable sum of money. For what you want for family to use for, it should be good for many years even without dedicated GPU or with some cheap one.
Not so much for modern gaming in next few years. BTW, what GPU do you have now ?

HI, thanks for the info ,
Sounds like im in the market for an upgrade , i bought a vega 56 just over a week ago , and had major problems with it so i RMA'd it and waiting for a replacement.
Previous to that i have a gtx 1060 3g which will be going in the mrs computer .
So basically if i put the gpu, cpu and MB in the old computer it will be the same as when i got it and i know its a running rig that will serve as a back up computer.
So in saying that i guess im looking for suggestions for a new gpu/cpu combo.
I was thinking AMD until my brand new vega was a brick ( was my first AMD component ever), realistically i want something that suits my new 2560x1440 monitor and wont hold back the vega.
But also dont want to spend a fortune as i will probably upgrade in 2-3 years time.
Is there an upgrade chart that i can use at all?
Thanks Mark
