Title says it all basically, I've just put together a new PC (phantom 410 case and Asus z170-p d3 mobo), connected it to the power and tried to turn it on however it won't start, but my motherboard standby light is lit green. (No fans or anything spin) I've read that standoffs should be used for mobo however my mobo manual said nothing about using standoffs so i didn't use any, could this be the issue?

Standoffs should always be installed! You can really damage your components if you don't, I suggest taking out the motherboard and installing them asap. You can easily short circuit hardware like that.
