[SOLVED] Motherboard gets power but wont turn on

so i was cleaning my system and decided to give the north and south bridge some new paste bc I have a Asus p6t motherboard. Everything went smoothly and i assembled the pc back together. motherboard received power when plugged in but when i hit the power button nothing happened. the lights stayed on but its like they have no function. nothing spins, nothing turns on, all i have are the two little lights that now do nothing. I checked the PSU with another system i had and everything works fine. tried to reseat everything, plugged and unplugged, tried everything. The only thing i didn't do was test the cpu was dead. i have a spare cpu i can use to test but i doubt that's the problem. If someone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

Recommend to try those troubleshooting ideas, also make sure the MB does support your cpu.

Maybe its the power button, have you taken a screw driver and touched the two pins associated to power and see if your pc boots?
