Motherboard has power but pc doesn't go on

Hello everyone,

Yesterday i installed my new Asus b250 prime motherboard. I put the I5 7600K on it and 2x4gb ddr4 ram memory. I installed my Msi gtx 960 4gb. I use a 500W PSU

The pc turned on but i had no image, after getting a hdmi cable the pc didnt go on again, the motherboard shows a orange light. It doesnt blink or whatever, i hear no beeps from the motherboard.


What can i do?

#1 Is this the Prime B250M-A or the Prime B250 Plus.
#2 Either way for now I recommend checking your RAM. Recently when I built I computer it wouldn't boot because of RAM. My motherboard required RAM to be placed in certain slots for it to work. If you have two sticks of RAM then start by putting them both in A1 and A2. If that doesn't work then try B1 and B2. For some reason my motherboard requires the B slots to be filled before it allows the A slots for use. Don't know why, but it is. Try that out and tell me what happens.
#3 Also remember to plug the HDMI into the graphics card. If you plug it into the motherboard it will only use the integrated Intel graphics on your processor. But also maybe don't do that. I am not familiar with installing GPUs on a fresh build so perhaps you need to plug the HDMI into the motherboard and finish installing Windows or whatever OS you use and THEN install the GPU drivers before switching the HDMI over to the GPU. GPUs have limited functionality before drivers are installed, but I don't know if that means you won't be able to use it for installing your OS and other basic functions.
So in the end I suggest that you plug the HDMI into the GPU first and try my RAM solution. IF that doesn't work only then should you try the RAM solution again, but with the HDMI in the motherboard this time.
