Motherboard i/o shield

Hi
i been building my first pc using a asus z87 a motherboard
i have 2 queries
1.

i dont think its visible but the motherboard is flexing near the output ports
is this because the screw hole isn't in the corner and the asus z87 a only has 6 screw holes
2.

is the i/o shield meant to have the metal things on top of the ports ?

You may want to check to see that all the standoffs are put in correctly, and the screws arent too tight, that should help with the flexing. With my board the shield would not line up, so I had to bend a few of those clips to make the fit easier, as they can push back fairly hard. And they should be on top like that.

1. I can't see it, but is it flexing or is it slightly warped?
2. That's correct. It's meant to ground the ports properly by applying a bit of pressure to maintain contact.

If it's very slightly warped, then it isn't an issue; even if it flexed a bit, that still wouldn't cause problems.
