motherboard is it still working.

basically this is my first p.c. build ive been pooing my pants the whole way through lol, ive managed to get everything working but i dont have a graphics card yet so i cant check through a monitor if things are o.k.

i powered the system up, to see if it would work, the fans are running and work with the fan controller and there is a red LED light on the motherboard unsure which one its for but i can check if you need me to.

i just fitted the power to the dvd drive with the main power off and unplugged, and when i went to boot it up to test it nothing happened, a few minutes later i tried it again and it worked

could my motherboard be fried, if you need more information to help, i'll do my best to supply it.

motherboard is ASUS P9X79 PRO it comes up with the q-code 97, then shortly after AE, i dont have an OS installed or a graphics card yet, i'm just hoping you think everything sounds normal, from the info i have provided

first off thanks for responding

yes i did, sorry forgot to put them down, there are a few more too checked this morning.

61- nvram initialisation
67 - cpu dxe initialisation is started
69 - system agent dxe initialisation is started
97 - console output devices connect
d7 - no console input devices found
a3- idle enable
AE - legacy boot event

this takes a couple of seconds and they are in that order might be a couple more it goes pretty quickly by the end its cycled through the DRAM, CPU, VGA and BOOT LED's and leaves the only the Q- code LED's on

i would do a full recheck of the system got memory error then cpu does not detect keyboard or mouse and do not see the os drive use your motherboard user manual for bios settings also this board have onboard video if not you will need a graphic card in ,do you have any beep code from the piezo speaker on the borard ?
