Motherboard isn't detecting any hard drives

I just got a new Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3HP motherboard and as soon as I tryed to boot up it gave me the error " no bootable device!". Naturally I checked the bios and neither one of my two hard drives show up. I have tried all 3 available modes (RAID, IDE and AHCI) and none of them detect either of the drives. I know for a fact the hard drives are 100 percent functional. I have tried clearing the cmos and toggling settings in the bios but none of that has seemed to work.
 
Solution
ACHI is the mode you want usually.

Did you double-check the cables going into the hard drives? It could be the power cables or data cables are lose. Or if you have a modular power supply, the cable with the SATA power connectors could be lose.


I've tried every sata port, plus I've already made absolutely sure they were completely tight. I'm absolutely sure it's not cable related no offense.
 


I do have a modular PSU but nothing is loose.
Update: turns out the modular sata connector on the PSU was actually very slightly loose, thanks!
