Hey guys , I have the asus maximus vii hero and I have a few questions.

The first issue is that I installed the case front USB 3 header into the USB 3 port on the motherboard (100% in the right way) and for some reasons when I disconnected the USB 3 header from the port , it came off with the plastic bay of the USB 3 port , here is a picture that show how it looks with the plastic http://www.technic3d.com/article/pics/1673/asus_maximus_vii_hero_z97-10.jpg , all the USB 3 port pins are perfectly straight and strong but for some reason the plastic bay of the USB 3 port decided to leave with the USB 3 header... Can I still use that USB 3 port ?

Also I don't understand how the case front audio and microphone connectors work , will they perform like the IO panel connectors , or rather the IO connectors are superior to them?

Issue with my Ram , CMY16GX3M2A1600C9 , for some reason when I enabled the factory XMP profile , it worked in the start but after some restarts I had a message saying the the XMP overclocking profile failed and the Ram configuration went back to the base speeds and latency.
Keep in mind that I have not updated the UEFI yet , or ran a Memtest , it happened when I wanted to try out the UEFI and just do a little check the everything is working when I enable the XMP.

And my last question is about the storage , I have HDD and a small SSD , and I wonder if there are any option settings for the SSD and HDD in the UEFI , and what are they doing if there is such settings.

Thank you for the help!

Solution
About USB3:
-you can use it without plastic, but better (and its easy) to set that plastic back on place.

About Audio/Mic:
-it must be in user manual.

About RAM:
-your Ram is not in the QVL
So, there may be issue with overclocking.

About HDD:
-there are some options in advanced menu. You can set SATA modes to IDE/AHCI/RAID, boot order options, and some more options.
