Hello guys i just want to ask if my motherboard pcie slot is broken. I have a graphic card but when i installed it at my PC1, my computer freezes half way on boot . But i tried it in older pc my PC2 and its working fine what do you think the issue is . I updated the bios of pc1 but the problem still persist.

Solution

Do you still have the DVD that came with your motherboard, to install the chipset drivers, VGA and sound drivers? If so you should be able to install the graphics card and boot straight to the DVD, and install your drivers from there.

If this does not work, your only solution may be to install the graphics card and then reinstall Windows. If you do reinstall don't forget to save important settings like bookmarks, Emails and anything located on your desktop. Remember, always backup.

If you have already cleared the CMOS an it still will not boot, press the "Delete" button as your computer is booting to enter the BIOS.

1. In the BIOS go to the "Boot" tab. For "Operation System Select" choose your OS.
2. Under "Set Boot Priority" check that your "Hard Disk" containing Windows is selected as "Boot Option #1".
3. Last hit the "F4" key to "Save & Exit".

Try these steps and see if your PC will now start.

From your original question, i can't see how your PCIe x16 slot is broken if you can get into Windows, but it immediately freezes. If the PCIe x16 slot were broken, you would not get any signal to the monitor at all. Therefore i assume if there is any way to fix your problem you will have to find it in the BIOS, otherwise your stuck. Throw out the computer and get a new one.

Yeah its confusing do you think the pciex16 is loose? Or The motherboard not supported my graphic card? Or can you suggest a budget motherboard and cpu for working. Like blender 3d and unity 3d engine.

You did not give much information in your original post.

1. What operating system are you using?
2. How long has this combination of H61H2-MV motherboard and Zotac GT 710 graphics card been working properly before this problem started?
3. Did you make any hardware or software changes to your PC just before this problem started?

i tried reflasing bios
Itried resetting cmos
Reseating ram
Different hdd
I tried swapping PSU (older and newer)
Problem still persist its freezing
But in integrated graphics its working fine.

os i tried win7,win8,win10

i just bought the gt-710

No the problem exist when i tried to first installed it at my h61h2-mv mobo

But at my very old asus mobo dont know the model its working fine no freezing even in playing

I'm not aware of any reason your Zotac GT 710 2GB card should not work in that motherboard, so here is what i recommend.

1. Take the card out and boot into Windows using the integrated graphics.
2. Go to the product page for your Zotac GT 710 2GB [DDR3 or DDR5?] then go to "Downloads" and select "Software/Driver" + your version of Windows and download the latest "ZOTAC GeForce Graphic driver". https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/GT710/all?
3. Install that on your PC, then go to "Control Panel > Device Manager > Display adapters" and see if the ZOTAC GeForce GT 710 is listed.
4. If it is, shut down the computer, install the graphics card and boot.

See if that works for you.

yeah it says "this graphic driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"
