Motherboard LAN Port not working. How can I identify that LAN is dead ?

Hello, past 2 weeks Motherboard LAN port not working. It's always saying cable unplugged.
When I'm clicking "Identify adapter" from Network Properties it's blinking Orange light.

I had connection through my router DIR-816. After lighting storm ISP also had issues and my LAN was still working in that time but when I connected cable directly to my PC (not through router) after few hours later it's stopped working and keep showing Cable Unplugged.

I'm 80% sure that Motherboard LAN is damaged due to lighting storm but how can I identify that LAN is dead ?

Also tried to clear BIOS by using jumper.

Have you tried another known working Ethernet cable?

Windows 10? Run the built-in troubleshooters.

Purchase or borrow a USB Ethernet adapter. Disable the motherboard LAN adapter and enable the USB Ethernet adapter. Or a PCIe based Ethernet adapter.

Should help narrow down the source of the problem.

Problem occurred when I directly connected ISP/WAN cable to PC. I think LAN port was shot when I connected directly.

I use Patch Cable to connect from Router to PC and Patch Cable has no issue I think. As I tested patch cable: by connecting 1 RJ45 to Router LAN port and 1 RJ45 to Router WAN port, in that time Router WAN LED was ON(Color Green).

When I'm connecting ISP cable to my PC LAN port it's showing cable unplugged. But when I'm connecting same cable to Router it's working fine and Router WAN LED also turning ON.

Currently using USB Wifi to access internet from my PC 🙁

The router's WAN port is for the incoming connection from the ISP's modem.

Router to PC should be from the/a router's LAN port to the PC's wired LAN port (motherboard, USB, or PCIe).

Please provide a line diagram showing the physical connections being used.

For example:

ISP ----> Modem -----Ethernet cable ----> [WAN] Router [LAN] ----Ethernet cable ----> [LAN motherboard] PC.

You could try using command prompt to reset the network adapter. Open command prompt as an administrator and type: netsh winsock reset

Try a live version of Ubuntu from usb. dont install by mistake.
