This is my first build using X10SLL-F-O and Pentium G3220. I want to run FreeNAS on the system. I plugged everything in and when I turn on the power supply, I see a solid orange LED and a blinking green LED on the motherboard. According to the manual, both are indicating normal status (AC power is connected and BMC Heartbeat respectively). Now if I try to turn on the power switch on the case, nothing happens.

I removed all peripherals, USB and fan connectors, RAM and hard drives and still not turning on. I even took it out of the case to rule out shorting, removed the CPU 4pin connector leaving only the CPU, CPU fan, and 24pin connector. I tried to power it on using a screwdriver to short the power headers. Still, it doesn't turn on but the LEDs are still on.

Components:

  • Supermicro MBD-X10SLL-F-O MicroATX LGA1150 Server Motherboard
    Intel Pentium Processor G3220 3.0 GHz LGA 1150 BX80646G3220
    Crucial 8GB Single DDR3L 1600MT/s PC3-12800 DR x8 ECC UDIMM 240-Pin Server Memory CT102472BD160B
Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair Builder Series CX 430 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply
    4X 2TB WD Red drives
    8GB USB flash drive

I performed the paperclip test, and the power supply works. Also the fact that the LEDs light up means power is reaching the mother board.

The RAM is not specifically listed in the "test memory list" (only 2 models listed) but it's popular in the FreeNAS forums where I posted the specs for review before I got the parts. Shouldn't I hear error beeps when I try to boot without RAM if RAM was the issue? The general specs state that the cpu is supported. smorizio, when you say bios rev, do you mean the bios version or the PCB revision number?

Should I try recovering the BIOS by using the jumper? Anything else I can try?
