Heya. So I only build 5 desktops in my entire life, and this is the first time it happens on me.
Long story short, I built a system with i5-8400 and MSI H310M. Upon completion, the system won't boot, and the EZ debug CPU led stays lit in white.
Removed the CPU and after some inspection, noticed 2 of the pins was bent down, seemingly with different direction. I was very careful and no way I could've done that, and this must came from the factory no?
So I took a tweezer and tried to align it up so they look as close as the other pins. Dang they are tiny and I had to use my phone torch to lit them from different directions!
Now the system boots and running well. Only afterwards I start browsing about factory-bent pins.. All installed RAM detected just fine.
The question is, is it really fixed? Is there any particular feature I can test which related to the pins on that area?
