Help. OK. So I have this computer http://www.pcworld.com/product/30274/vostro-200.html.

My computer's right side tower case panel was not properly put on. It is just laying there since I was fixing it. So it was like leaning against it. I am using Fedora and I right-click and see the context menus are all black. Must be a graphical problem so.. let's restart. Then my cat jumps on the tower and sits there. I think nothing of it,....

I restart my computer that was JUST working and nothing. Just a tinted black screen.

I look inside and my mobo's LED is orange.

Help?

Solution
Might be a motherboard issue then. Try removing all addin cards, all hard drives and cd rom drives (Just dissconnect from power) and all but one stick or ram. If the power light is still orange then its a motherboard issue most likely.
Ok so you get a blue power light but then it flashes orange and does it stay orange or does it just keep flashing?

A soild orange power light is a motherboard issue. And flashing orange light is a Power Supply issue.

The light inside on the motherboard is just saying "Hey, I got Power" now if that power is good enough to turn on the PC it won't tell you.

Try unpluging the power from the PC. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Then open it up and unplug the BIG 24 pin power connector for the motherboard and let it sit like like 15 minutes. Plug it back in, plug back into power, and try turning it back on again.

The motherboard light is suppost to be orange. All that light tells you is that its getting power. Its the POWER light that if its goes Orange/Amber then there is an issue. The light on the motherboard just shows if its getting some kind of power from the PSU.

Had the same exact issue with the Vostro 200 i have on my bench. Just giving me an orange power light. Took it to the office. Same thing. Left it unpluged over night. Turned on without issue and still without issue.
