Solution
Sounds like a rock and a hard place. System is certainly out of warranty, and as it was on the super low end 6 years ago it is probably not worth throwing any money at it.

You could buy a new 150W PSU to try and get it up and running again, but in all likelihood the PSU probably took out other parts with it, so then you are probably looking at a new motherboard... maybe ram and HDD... possibly a CPU. And if this is something like a Dell or HP then you probably can't go out and buy standard ATX consumer parts, you will have to look for parts that are specific to your machine.

If I was in your shoes here is what I would do:
Find a nerdy friend who has a PSU you could borrow rather than buying a new one (or 'borrow' a PSU form another...
First step is to get a new PSU and plug it in. If your old PSU was a piece of junk then it likely took out some other parts with it... but if it was a nicer unit then there is a chance that your system was protected.

Plugging a working PSU into a fried system should not harm the PSU.

Look i have 145w psu atx 20 pin.. i think.. and here is what happened i turned on the pc then i heard like "boom" then white smoke started to come out the psu.. so i m afraid that my mboard and other drives are dead so.. if i use some other psu with more watts should smthing happen?? Cuz i find other psu and i m afraid that mboard is broken so i will throw money in the air so.. have any other solutions..

lol, it's always exciting when the thing starts smoking! I have had that happen once or twice myself.

Let's start over a bit:

1) How old is this system
2) What is your tech level. Comfortable building a system? Never worked on PCs before?
3) Is it one that you built, or a pre-built system (like a Dell or HP)
4) What is your budget, because if you are fixing this one, or buying a new one, you are going to be spending money.

My thought is that if you only had a 150W PSU in your system then it is probably a very low end system that is much more easily (and cheaply) replaced than repaired. Hopefully your HDD is still OK, and then you will be able to transfer your documents to your new machine.

1. My System is about 5-6 years old..
2. I know something in PCs but I don`t want to fix PSU by myself.
3. This is System I bought.
4. Max money i want to spend is 50-60$

If i buy some psu which is 150W should it harm PCs MBOARD or something else?? http://
http://

It`s a little bit older PSU but it worked perfectly before that happend just click on these http//: and you will see what psu i had..

+If it powers on, and seems to be working then great! Go find yourself a new PSU that will fit your computer for $20-40.
- If it does not power on, then I would be looking at a new low-end machine, or look at buying a used computer on eBay/Craigslist

Hope that helps
