Motherboard memory compatibility

Hello, I want to build a budget PC of 100-120 euros. I chose MSI H81M-P33 and Intel Pentium G3240. But I'm having an issue choosing RAM. I'm trying to find a DDR3, 1600mhz RAM but every memory I found is not on the MSI compatibility list https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H81M-P33.html#support-mem. If I buy a RAM that is not in the list but It's DDR3 and 1600mhz will it work.

The compatibility list is merely a list of confirmed to work RAM sets. As long as you buy a set of RAM that is inside the specification the board can handle then it should work just fine. So in your case any DDR3 1600mhz should work. A quality manufacturer will help as well, G.Skill or Crucial are generally good buys.

More than likely yes as long as all the specs match. They never test all RAM models. Which did you have in mind?

They should be ok, except they are DDR3L, which are low voltage and all the ones on the supported list are regular 1.5v DDR3, so you may be better off getting those if you want to make sure.

Did you want 1x4gb, 2x4gb or 2x2gb etc?
