Motherboard(MSI z370 SLI PLUS) can not see my HDD(Seagate Barracuda 1TB)

Dear people,

I am desperate. Finally today I finished my first PC build and my entire excitement was destroyed after I tried to install Windows 10 and there was nowhere to install it.

Okay, now a little bit more serious. I opened Bios and tried to search where problem is and I've got .... almost nothing only words "SATA port(1,2...) - not present - disable" , after a few hours of googling and trying, the only thing I managed to do is to change SATA from "Disable" mode to "enable" in BIOS. Unfortunately the result didn't change at all. I've tried all 6 SATA slots and changed cable. The disc is working, it's heating and making some almost unnoticeable noise.

I don't have chance to check is the problem in motherboard or HDD as I don't have any friend's in here(Btw I moved to another country recently) that have PC.

So I am open to any offers, and I would be VERY, EXTREMELY happy for any help.

make sure m2/nve support is off if it on your sata ports will be turned off. on sata drives make sure there two cables one for power and one for data. make sure the drive is spinning.

RAM: G-Skill 16GB (2 x 8GB 2400)
Power Supply: be quite! Straight power 11, 650W 80plus Gold.
CPU cooler: Cryorig H5 ultimate.
Storage(only HDD): Seagate Barracuda, 1TB, 7200RPM, SATA 6gb/s, 64MB cache.
Wi-Fi adapter: Asus PCE-N15 300mbps, PCI-E.
NO GPU at the moment.
All parts are brand new.

I am not sure how to turn off m2/nve support, I couldn't find it in my BIOS.
There are exactly 2 cables, one goes to the motherboard SATA slot, another goes to the power supply.
I can't open HDD and check if it's spinning, do you know any other methods on how to do that?

Just touch your finger to the HDD. You can feel the vibration of it spinning (or not).

Make sure the data and power connections are fully, firmly attached. Also, try alternate cables.

Okay. I don't think there is any vibrations, there is only almost unnoticeable noise.
I am 100% sure the cable is fine, because HDD is heating a bit after computer is turned on.
I changed the cables and tried all 6 SATA slots in motherboard.
Any other suggestions, or should I just send HDD back and ask for a refund?

Unfortunately no. I will buy another HDD in the local shop probably, only to test it with my motherboard.
I don't have another PC to test HDD, only laptop, but I don't think there would be any use of that.
Thank you for help, I will keep you in touch after testing another HDD. Until then, I am still opened for any help.

UPDATE!: I've got donated an old 160GB toshiba HDD from a laptop.
It works fine, there is windows XP on it and I don't know why but it does't want to turn on the system.
I will try to update it to windows 10 using USB memory stick.
Here is full specification of both HDDs I have(Maybe it will help somehow):
1. Seagate Barracuda 1TB, 7200RPM, SATA 6gb/s, 64MB Cache, HDD - OEM(ST1000D010)
2. Toshiba 160GB, 5400RPM, SATA (unfortunately that is what I can see on hard drive)

XP won't work on the new hardware. Sounds like your hardware does see the HDD, though. This implies that your 1TB HDD was the problem all along.

Yes. There was another 120GB HDD(ironically it is made by seagate) with windows 7 and it's working; working pretty slow but still better than nothing.
I saw some other cases when HDD was not visible for motherboard and they managed to fix it somehow.

So... fingers crossed

Thank you for help and your time spent on solving this problem, I really appreciate that somebody is actually bothered with that!!!

UPDATE:

After several hours and days spent on different forums, youtube, support chats and etc. I didn't get a chance to fix my HDD.
Well, I will start straight after my previous message. When I opened Disk management I've got 2 Drives. And if one of them(old laptop) was doing great there, another one was a bit of disaster for me. Basically I had 1 normal drive with all info about it and one "Disk 1 /// not initialized /// (no space) /// unknown". When I went a bit forward I observed something weird, in properties it stated that the drivers were not updated since 2006, there was no name or manufacture of the HDD so I couldn't find any more info about it, and why it was not updated for 12 years(even though the disk was released in 2017). Anyways, in the Internet, there were some videos and articles on how to solve this issues, but, those were "click baits" just to download some shi**y program which supposed to make some miracle, and make it alive again. Obviously I didn't even download them because of their "bad reputation". I've tried a few more simple things like to initialize disk, downloaded some SEAGATE software(seatool and wizard) but it didn't help at all. So Yesterday I finally gave up and now I'm fighting with Overclockers UK, for a refund(funny thing, if I want to get a refund I have to pay for the delivery of a failure product which they sold as normal, and basically that is their fault, but I have to pay for their mistakes...).

And that is probably it, if you ever face the same problem, better do not waste lots of days on trying to solve it, better just get a refund or a replacement if it is covered by a warranty or go to the specialists and pay them to fix it somehow(I still think that you can fix it using some special tools).
