My friend just ordered a gaming rig. What he got was a mobo Gigabyte b250m d3h. Now my query is, can a mobo driver of gigabyte z97 be used on his rig?? Is there any difference?? Please kindly help or advice as he feels he's being ripped of his money.

You can't use the driver of another Chipset (z97 in this case), you need to use the driver of the b250m. Why is he feeling ripped? Drivers are free to download.

A fresh, new install of Windows is what he will need to do.

He's not being ripped off. No more than a diesel engine needing to run off diesel, so to speak.

the brand may be the same but the hardware on them is different so he cannot use the drivers from the old mobo. he is not being ripped off this is how new and old hardware work. if there is no OS pre installed in the new one they will have to reinstall it because it is rare a windows install from one computer will work in another
