Hello everyone,

So i had a problem with my PC a few days ago. It was running hot, so I decided to replace the thermal paste and clean the coolers on the CPU.... The PC worked pretty well with some freezes when opening youtube or facebook but it was useable.

Now... when I removed the CPU from the Motherboard my crazy cat decided to inspect what Im doing and jumped into the PC case... and this had a result of bending some of the motherboard cpu (775) socket pins, tried to repair but one broke off....

Now I replaced the Motherboard with a similar one called ASUS P5VD1-X, my CPU is Pentium 4 HT 3.0....the socket for it is 775 so its good, and the cpu fits there.

But my CPU remains cool, doesnt run, and when I move it a bit, it starts heating up.

So my problem is, the bios when I turn the pc on doesnt even boot. All the fans on the PC work pretty well, all are spinning, theres temperature on the CPU and the GPU/motherboard passive cooler, but im not getting any beep sound when turning the pc on, and no signal from the GPU.

Tried everything from removing the RAM, HDD, replacing the Motherboard battery....still no beep, no signal and no boot.

Anyone able to help?
Thanks

It could be that the cpu decided to abandon you at last chance or the mobo was not installed properly(got hurt in the process as it is extremely sensitive) ram could also be the issue (you didnt state that you replaced it but usually bad ram gives a bsod.) and does it boot into your os? ( if you mange to have one installed) does the monitor show anything?

Nope, the monitor shows no input signal, just goes into standby, the motherboard doesnt even boot up, the fans are working, the motherboard light is turned on, so theres power in it. Theres no integrated VGA on the board but 2 GPU slots 1x AGPx8 and 1x PCIe-x16, theres no BSOD, it wont even boot up, theres an already installed XP Professional version of the OS from the previous setup

so check that the small 4-pin connector beside the CPU is inserted correctly then recheck the wiring l, us your monitor connected to a graphics card, or onboard , but I bet it's a faulty connector or wire, also check psu connections

Found the problem....

Theres a broken pin on the CPU socket..... Only 1
And It seems thats the main problem...

I really wonder what kind of a retard created the Socket T/775.....
Those pins are retarded

no wonder they're discontinued
