Hey there everyone. This is fourth system Ive built using only M.2 NVMe SSDs. But this time Im having issues with the M.2 NVME's even getting detected. Its probably some underlying technical issue that is a user error (me!)

New Build. For a buddies mom.
Turns on.
Goes to bios or tries to install windows if boot flash is plugged in.
When its time to select a hard drive it doesn't show on either the Windows Install list (its just blank) or in the bios setting.

Gigabyte Z590 UD AC (rev1.x) https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z590-UD-AC-rev-1x#kf
Bios Version F3

Crucial P2 500GB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD - CT500P2SSD8
and also tried a
Kingston 480GB A400 M.2 Internal SSD - SA400M8
Ive tried both the first and third M.2 NVME slots. And no luck.

Running 32gigs Viper mem. 1660 super VGA. evga 650 pwr.

I really hope this is not a bios issue, as I have no experience flashing mobo bios.
I can still do a return on the motherboard.

Any ideas and help are appreciated. Thank you for your time.

You are brilliant. 🆒
I had no idea that was even a thing.
I have even older cpus with working M.2s.
I knew it was my own user error, damn.

Which part is easiest to switch out to get it to work?
a- CPU?
b- Mobo?
I'm assuming not the M.2

Thank you so very much.

a cpu would be simpler. just make sure the motherboard bios have the right version

motherboard would depend on the motherboard model. the 1st m.2 slot some do, some don't work for the 10th gen
from a different manufacturer https://www.msi.com/blog/m2-slot-is...therboards-with-10th-gen-intel-core-processor
so basically for 10. max of 2 working m.2 slot

you can test the m.2 on the 2nd m.2 slot. that one work for both m.2 that you got
