Question Motherboard not detecting GPU

Hi my motherboard is not detecting my gpu i tried moving it into another pci slot when i try to go into bios it says my pci slot is empty. When i turn my pc on the fans do come on but that's it any suggestions?

Psu is a silverstone 750w strider gold s series and yes it was working fine then just stopped displaying video so i plugged the hdmi into the on board motherboard graphics and the picture came on

test the gpu on another working pc?
