Hey I just bought a Gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 motherboard and I put in my fx4300 quad core and my geforce gt 730 but it didnt seem to work. so i took out the gpu and it booted fine on onboard graphics. however i've already tried disabling onboard graphics in the bios but it still doesn't work. every time the gpu is in it says no single and just turns black. i also tried with a geforce gt 710. i have 1 8gb corsair vengence ram stick also.do you think it may be the psu? it's only 350w so i thought that may be the problem so i was gonna go buy a 600 or 750w since i'm also planning on buying a better cpu and a r9. do you think the power is the problem??? oh and off-topic question.... can i copy the data from my 500gb hdd into a ssd or a 1tb or higher hdd and how would i do that? help please

It's certainly possible that your PCIe x16 slot is DOA. It could also be you're BIOS is not setup properly. Look at page 30-32 of the manual, you can download it here:
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4305#manual

The following BIOS setting should be set to PEG

Init Display First
Specifies the first initiation of the monitor display from the installed PCI graphics card, PCI Express graphics
card, or the onboard graphics.
- PCI Slot Sets the PCI graphics card as the first display. (Default)
- OnChipVGA Sets...

I have cleared the CMOS multiple times

The card fan boots up fine and the cpu fan but idk if the actual gpu is booting up. i've also tried plugging the VGA intothe card along with the mobo but still no display

When you install a GPU the monitor should always be connected to that GPU.

Do either of the GPU's you've tried have a power connector on them? If they do, you need to connect the PCIe power connector from the PSU to the GPU. Though some older cards use a molex connector instead of a PCIe connector.

Also check your BIOS and see if there is an option to disable the on-board graphics.

The bios don't have a setting for that i believe and i think it's the power supply. because i plugged in an old fan and the system turned on then off like it was out of power. however the GPU doesn't have a plug to plug into the psu. you just put it in the slot ajnd that's it. it's the MSI Geforce g730.

The GPU can still pull up to 75W through the PCIe slot, that's what a PCIe slot is rated for. GPU's that need external power connectors exceed the 75W a PCIe slot can deliver.

well how come the card isn't displaying video then? even my geforce gt 710 isn't displaying video and it doesn't have a build in fan or anything

I( just bought the mobo so i doubt it's that

Also page 36, set PCI1 IRQ to Auto

PCI1 IRQ Assignment
- Auto BIOS auto-assigns IRQ to the first PCI slot. (Default)
- 3,4,5,7,9,10,11,12,14,15 Assigns IRQ 3,4,5,7,9,10,11,12,14,15 to the first PCI slot.
