Motherboard not good enough?

H series chipsets do not offer much in the way of overclocking.

Z series motherboards are the overclocking motherboards, and should have more than enough power to overclock the CPU and the GPU as long as your power supply is also strong enough to supply the needed power.

Lower end mobos are more for basic use and features than made for OCing. Some are aimed at the 3258 for 'OCing'. It's really more the design and components used than it is simply a number of VRMs or power phases. There are boards with 126 phases that really suck and don't manage power as well as good 8 phase designs. When it comes to OCing a CPU, don't skimp and get a budget mobo :)
