Motherboard not recognizing CPU

First build here. Everything turned on fine but no signal to the monitor. The motherboard EZ debug light for the CPU was on, indicating there was an issue with the CPU. Turns out the factory paste for the HSU seeped into the CPU compartment and corrupted the pins. I exchanged the CPU and motherboard and reinstalled. Still no signal to the monitor and the CPU light is still on. I tested the graphics card, PSU and ram, all appear fine. At this point absolutely no idea what the issue could be. At this point I have a very expensive footrest. Please help!

my bet is your 3000 MHz ram isn't as compatible as you think it is, tons of reported issues and most manufacturers have been scrambling to update BIOSes of their motherboard to get their board to handle the over 2400 MHz memory sticks. in your case... there was a Bio update date 5/9/2017 so 10 days ago regarding this issue: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-PC-MATE.html#down-bios

now you need 2133 ram stick on board for system to start up and then be able to bios flash it

Yes^
Many motherboards are having problems with ram speeds higher than 2400 Mhz
Try Switching to a 2133MHz speed RAM, updating the BIOS and then back to 3000Mhz

Also, if you think buying more RAM just to use it once is a waste of money, Go and put up a fight at the service center and have them flash the BIOS for You ! :lol:
