Heya guys, started the day with the comp not turning on at all.

It went gracefully yesteday, ie powered it off and all was o.k.. Today nil and nada.

Tried to jump the mobo (trusty screwdriver)- doesn't do anything. Led on mobo is off and stays off.

Comp has been set up 2 years ago, had recent issues with the clock being out of sync/bios losing time and resetting to ~01/01/16.

There was an old (not resolved)issue where putting it to sleep meant it had to be powered up as normal. Unsure if that's related.

Never shut down like this before/never not started though

Wondering if it's the psu? Or the battery or the mobo itself.

Comes with a fatal1try (asrock) k5 and a evega 600b (and a corsair meant to replace cx650 and waiting in the wings).

Thanks!

If you've had your data resetting, your CMOS battery needs to be replaced. I'm not sure that would cause failures to power up, but it needs to be done anyway, so...
If your PC is two years old, it is possible your CX-600 has fallen to its 3rd-rate capacitors, which may not last (many problem threads report such deaths in less than a year). Replace the battery before worrying about the PSU though.

Looking like a power supply issue. Usually when the motherboard died, it power on and power off. When the power supply died, it usually don't power up at all.

However, before buying anything, you have some troubleshooting to do.

1. Remove your GPU and try to power your computer. Usually when a GPU died, your power supply will prevent your computer from turning on. If that is the case, your GPU is dead and don't try it in another computer or your card may explode. Happened to me in the past.

2. If you have another power supply, swap it with your old one. No need for anything fancy, any power supply would do the trick.

3. If nothing else do, your motherboard would probably be the culprit. At that time you should RMA your motherboard or in the worst case buy a new one. ASROCK boards are horrible and their customer service even worst. Once again, I know by experience.

Hmmm, I have had excellent results from ASRock, and also from their customer service (they RMA'd a sample board I'd bought without warranty for $50 iirc). Removing your graphics card and testing with that reduced load using your igp would be a good test. Also, replace that battery before assuming the board is simply bad.
