Motherboard not turning on randomly

So yesterday I wanted to regularly turn on my PC. But noticed when I press the button it just doesn't react in any way, no fans spinning, nothing. I took out the motherboard and PSU, I tested out if PSU is working- it's fine. Motherboard tho seems not to react in any way, I tried turning it on by touching both pins that power up the PC with a screwdriver but still nothing, I tried taking out RAM(3 sticks) and trying to turn it on with each separate stick- nothing. Whats weird is that all the LEDs on thr motherboard itself seem to light up properly. Anyone experienced this and is it safe to say that MOBO is dead?

Take the motherboard outside of the case and try to fire it up. That way we rule out short circuit inside the case

How did you test the PSU and are you using the same PSU to test the motherboard? If you used the ‘paperclip’ test this method cannot prove a psu is working ok, it can only prove a psu is dead.

I already took it out of the case and tried to turn it on with only 24 and CPU 6 pins connected. Nothing. Yes I tried the method where you connect green with black and PSU fan started to work.

Try with another psu if you have spare or borrow one. The fact that the fan is spinning doesn't say anything.

Yeah, even if test the voltages using that method it does not prove the psu can deliver the correct voltages under real world load, that test is with zero load.

My PSU is Corsair VS550, its not even 3 years old, I will test the mobo with other PSU but I doubt mine is broken

VS is poor quality, not terrible but below average. It might not be the psu but I’m just saying don’t rule it out yet.

Well I don't have insane specs, only 760 and i5 2500. So high quality PSU wasnt a requirement for me

if it not the power supply can be a weak cmos battery. when you powered on the pc was the power good led on or was it blinking. if it was blinking it telling you your power supply voltage is bad. on my rig had a cheap power supply die. a lot of the mb led lights would come on but no post with the mb. swapped out the power supply with a new unit and my mb posted fine. if the power supply under warranty rma it first. if not look at the seasonic foucus units.

I noticed weird thing when using my PC before but ignored it. I had certain BIOS settings for example, but after I turn off the PSU completely, all the settings used to reset

That could be a dead cmos battery, which in turn could mean a fried mobo. Start troubleshooting ! Try another psu. If problem persists it's the mobo to blame

Motherboard is as dead as my will to live. Thanks to people who tried to help
