[SOLVED] motherboard not working at x16 Gen3.0

Hi,

My motherboard is a Asus Prime x470 Pro and my issue is my GFX card isn't running at x16 Gen 3.0. It seems stuck at x8 Gen 3.0. I 've tried updating the BIOS and using the benchmark in GPU-Z, but just switches from idle x8 1.1 to x8 3.0. Is it my Motherboard? GPU-Z reports that the GFX is capable of x16 Gen 3.0. I have no other cards in the slots, I am using a Samsung 970 Evo NVMe drive is the top M2 slot.

Remove the GPU and drop it into the lower slot and see if your results stay the same. You can then remove the CMOS battery and replace it after 15 mins and then try dropping the GPU in top most slot.
