Hello -
I bought a new MSI 970 motherboard and I'm running it without a case so I'm trying to get it to start up by shorting the power switch pins on the motherboard itself. I put a screwdriver to them, and every once in a while the video card fans will spin for about a second, and then nothing happens. I am using a rather old PSU, but it's a thermaltake 850W and I have the exact same computer running fine with a 750W power supply. I only have one stick of RAM in.
I am not sure if I'm doing the shorting wrong, or what is happening.
Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks!
