If I have only one installed it wont boot except through onboard. If I have 2 gpus installed it WILL boot but only recognize the one gpu in the 1st pci slot. Seems very odd. any ideas? Motherboard is a msi z97 krait edition. graphics cards are 8800 gts 640 mb and x1950 pro 256mb.

Quick question, why are u using such older cards together and especially a nvidia one and amd one? Im fairly certain the i series processor on that board has better graphics than those two.

Look in the bios and there should be a option for preferred video output being integrated or pci-e

I didnt mean to click best answer. the 8800 gts is much better than the integrated graphics. I have a g3258 processor. I only found out by mistake that i could get one gpu to work by randomly deciding to put both in. I can swap pci slots and each work just only one at a time. the board wont recognize just a single card in by itself. bad mobo?
