Need some help understanding latest motherboards if I wanted to use a gpu like a msi 7870 twin frozer that requires 2 pcie slots to be inserted to that have to be together what kind of motherboard would I need?

Would a msi 990fxa gd80 support this? are gpu only able to go into pcie x16 slots? can all pci slots be explained to me like is pcie x16 only for gpu then normal pci for things like wifi cards?

What reasonable priced motherboards have the latest amd support with dual pcie x16 slots next together so I can install a 7870 msi frozer in?

All these card require only one PCI-E x16 slot, but they need the space of two slot in your case, because they or to thick. And those x16 slot are for GPUs only. There are cards like raid controllers for this slot type, but that's not relevant for home use. And don't buy a wifi PCI card! Go for a USB wifi adapter, that you can move around to get the best connection.
