ATX power connector question. What does the letter B mean on the side of my 12v 4/8 pin power connector? As there are two 4 pin connectors does it matter which way round they go? The same applies to the graphics card.

Just about to turn machine on for first time so want to ensure everything is plugged correctly.

Solution
Simple guide,
1. your 24 pin connector goes to yor mobo's 24 pin socket.
2. There are several 4 pin connectors coming from your power supply. one of them needs to connected to your mobo's 4 pin connector which is located near your cpu. Match the holes and insert it.
3. 6 pin connector needs to be connected to your graphic card if your graphic card need external power.
4. sata connectors needs to be connected to your hdd and cd rom(if you have).
5. Connect your cpu cooler's port to the mobo's cpu power socket, generally located upper side of the cpu.

Thats it.

There are many connecters which does not need to be connet to anything.

One thing, write your pc specification when you post questions to help us to give you more information.

Honorable
4/8 pin CPU power connector. The A is used for mainboard with 4-pin. If your board needs an 8-pin you combine the two and use both. They should be keyed to only fit one way. Look at this image.

PCIe connectors are wired differently and should NOT be interchanged with CPU connector. The plugs should be clearly marked.
