Motherboard Power Consumption

I have an old Dell XPS 8300 at home that runs my Plex Media Server on it. I have it setup, along with a RPi, for remote wake-up so I don't have to have it running 24/7. But I might like to have it running 24/7 in the future.

My questions is, when I buy a new case for the PC so it can hold more HDDs. Will changing the ATX motherboard to a Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX lower the power consumption any?

Thank you for your help!

Solution
Yes, it will and I don't know what exactly wattage that can be saved in the real usage. But you can use the http://pcpartpicker.com to see the result ( the difference between mATX and mini-itx ) on the paper, because it will show your the estimated wattage.
Thanks, I saw the Mini-ITX was rated 7-30w so I picked a random ATX and it was 17-75w. So I should see some savings, not sure if it will be worth it or just go ahead and get a new Mini-ITX and a newer generation i5 to save more.

Thanks again!!
