I have read and tried the fixes in the sticky.
This is my first build, so unfortunately I don't have any other parts to swap in or otherwise test with. I've got an Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 with an AMD FX 3250 and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. I'm just breadboarding with these components only, trying to get some sign of life beyond the green power LED lighting up when the PSU (Corsair CX750M) is switched on. So far, I get nothing, no fans, no beeps (I've connected my sound system, which functions fine, to the audio out), and no other lights on the board.
I have checked my cables/CPU multiple times. I'm sure my 24-pin ATX and 8-pin CPU power cables are attached. I have re-installed the CPU and HSF twice now, both times checking for bent or broken pins, both times cleaning and re-applying thermal compound (none is overflowing). I've tried to reset my CMOS/BIOS both through switching the jumper and removing the battery.
A fix would be great, but after two hours of reading every thread I could find and trying all the solutions I could, I'm less than hopeful. My biggest question is, what's my next move? As far as I can tell, I can't be certain whether the problem lies with the MOBO, PSU, or CPU. I'm thinking about taking it into a shop and asking them to help me do more in-depth diagnostic work (e.g. check the PSU with a multimeter, which I don't have) before I start contacting manufacturers or trying to send anything back.
What say you Tom's Hardware?
