Motherboard Problems !

Can't seem to connect Z270E Asus board to my Evga GTX 1080 FTW GPU. Even Geforce driver dowmload says no compatible device. What's up with that?

Top slot under cpu ,card is lit up no recognition in bios,no recognition from Geforce driver downloader either..

can the monitor is connection to it, and not to the mobo output?
what about the pcie power cable?

As rgd1 101 asked, after you plugged in the card did you hook up both 8 pin power connectors to the card ?

As i said ,it's lit, .both 8 point plugins are attached . I thought it might be a driver .Geforce couldn't locate it .

The error said no compatible device, hardware issue. try reseating the card.
