motherboard question

Which motherboards (if there are any) can run up to 3, or maybe even 4 graphics cards in crossfire on?

Is it worth trying to wait and get a x48 board? I've heard they can only use DDR3, which seems very expensive at the moment.

Why in the world would you want to run four graphics cards? Is real life that boring? Sorry I just don't get why someone would want to run 3 or 4 cards. The 780i will support Tripple SLI in 1st Q.
