I plan to build myself a computer for Christmas, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CgWNRG < this is my pc build that I've put together and plan to build. As you can see I am getting a B350 Tomahawk and Trident Z 3000 Ram. This forum "https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=283128.0" user "pimpspit" is having a problem because his 3000mhz ram is not going to its full potential. User "flobelix" states the reason is because "You are using ram that is meant for 3000 on Intel systems." I ordered this ram already, I didn't order the mobo yet tho. Do I have to make any adjustments/chaning the mobo of choice? Or wil I be good with my ram and motherboard.?

Solution
If you want guaranteed performance, then use an exact part number from the QVL list for that motherboard. The QVL list is the motherboard manufacturer's statement that they tested model XYZ and it successfully passed. OR save some money and buy more modestly clocked RAM. Get 2400 RAM rather than 3000.

Ryzen with OC'ed memory is still an issue. I built a machine for a client with 2666 memory and had no problems. I did update the UEFI to the latest version. OC'ed anything is luck of the draw
