Motherboard RAM limit

When I buy RAM memory and I have 32 bit OS and 2 GB RAM will I have to update my OS to 64 bit?

1. if you buy more than 4Gb of ram, windows x32 bit will only recognize the first 4gb of ram (ie you get 16GB , only 4Gb usable)
2. to use more than 4GB you will need to get x64 bit windows.

Thankss,the only thing I need to know now do motherboards have RAM limit.

They do but if youre using 32 bit it doesnt mater what the mobo supports. 32 bit only supports up to 4 gb ram

And if you upgrade to 64 bit, you'll have to do a clean install / delete all partitions to install 64 bit.

You cant upgrade from 32 to 64 bit

if you install 64 bit, then whatever the mobo supports, thats how much ram you can install on it

Thank you my friend but how do I find out how much RAM my motherboard supports?I only know that my motherboards manufacturer is ASUSTek

Open the case its on the motherboard - the model

yes each motherboard according to the maker and model will have maximum memory type allowed to work on it.
