hey, i’m currently building my first pc and have come across an issue where when i insert a RAM stick into slot 1 on my motherboard the pc won’t boot properly. instead it turns on for 10 seconds then turns off - this repeats.
I have 2x4 corsair vengeance ddr4 2133mhz RAM and use a GIGABYTE GA-H110-D3A

I am able to power my pc on 4GB of RAM in slot 2 (motherboard only has 2 slots)
I am new to this and would really appreciate some help/advice

Thanks in advance
Josh

Hi . I have a question for you . What is your processor model ? Because this can be the main problem . If not then it can be one of your memory that is defective .

yes it turns on and off again - both sticks work in slot 2 but nothing works in one. Could the slot be disabled in bios??
I can say yes . Try to enter to bios and verify if it's an option related to the slot . If it's then try to enable it . Also check the motherboard for bent cpu pins just like sizzling said .
