So, i recently got into making my old i5 750 alive and building it into a decent gaming pc (mostly for CS:GO and GTA V) got it to that point, however what i am stuck at is idling the MB sits at around 68-70°, gaming it goes to 100°C, according to Speccy. Should i buy a new MB? or is this savable. specs are
i5 750 4 Cores, 4 Threads @2.66GHz, Nehalem (virgin never overclocked)
12gb ram
gtx 660 2gb
motherboard is
0XC7MM (CPU 1)

any ideas what to do?

Is it Celsius or Fahrenheit?

How do you read the motherboard´s temperature? use HWinfo, eventually the temperature is shown in the BIOS as well.

if the temp. is really that high, remove the passive heat sink of the board, clean the chip and the cooler, reapply thermal paste to the chip and reassemble the cooler again.
If it´s still that high, it might be a faulty sensor.

Any problems with it so far?

thanks ! problem solved, did a deep clean and added new paste, now sits at 34-40 idle and 60 gaming, better than what it was lol
