Motherboard reads both the ram sticks but the memory size is only one of them

I have a ryzen system,
A MSI b350 gaming pro
A ryzen 5 1400
A Msi rx480
2 Corsair vengence lpx 4gb each,

t reads all the memory then as soon as I make any changes, eg add a new hdd, or the power goes,
The system stops posting, the ez debug leds stop at memory,
Then I clear the cmos, the boots up with half the momory, I try reseating the processor, shorting the jbat1.

Nothing works it shows only 4gb ram

And magically at some try it shows 8gb, and the cycle continues

I'd try updating the board's BIOS to 2L. Take care that updating the board's BIOS does imply risks.
