[SOLVED] motherboard recommendation and cpu cooler

motherboard is a msi b550m pro vdh

I recently started a post on my pc which i was worried cause my cpu will spike in temps upwards of 80 celcius, so i lowered the processor state to 95% to combat that, the gentleman that responded told me my motherboard isnt ideal for gaming because the vrm's are low and they dont have adequate heatsinks , my motherboard currently is a msi b550m pro vdh wifi , and he also recommended a better cooler than the stock cooler for my ryzen 5 3600 which is the wraith , i was looking at noctua but thats way out of my price range and also wont work with my memory as its to tall, im a disabled stroke survivor and dont have a huge amount of money to spend but im looking for recommendations for a mid tier decently priced good gaming motherboard for a ryzen 5 3600 with good vrm counts and cooling and also a cpu cooler that will work with my case and my ram ( case is a coolermaster masterbox mb311L i do believe) , i might even go for a better case if budget permits but i dont want the lian li that everyone else is using so i could look at recommendations for that as well if y'all dont mind helping me out as i have no idea where to begin or what to look for .. ty in advance

It has VRM heatsinks on the primary voltages going to the CPU. Secondary are bare.

With a 3600 I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as you have decent airflow in the chassis.

Replacing the CPU cooler probably isn't necessary, doesn't sound like it is throttling. But if you wanted it a little cooler on the cheap:

the temps were throttling , it would go from 55 - 80 every 5 - 10 min and stay there for 5 -10 seconds , also the stock cooler cycles constantly which is sooo annoying, i was running hardware monitor and at one time the highest was 82. the gentleman that replied to my other post stated the mobo isnt good for gaming but its okay for like web browsing , business applications etc etc cause of the low vrm count and lack of heatsink, he didnt say i needed to get a mobo right now but he did recommend a better cooler for not only cooling but the always cycling up and down on the stock wraith.

my pc specs are
MSI B550M pro vdh wifi
32 gigs trident neo (4 sticks)
seasonic gm-850 psu
Asus Ko 8gb oc 3060TI
ryzen 5 3600
coolermaster masterbox (i dont know how good of flow this has)

i paid $800 for the tower but it came with a generic no name psu, a 1660 and generic low speed high cas ram so ive upgraded those things , with what i have added to this i could of got a really nice prebuilt i assume , but i want to protect this, i know the cpu isnt the best but i want to make sure it lasts and i can get the best out of it.

im not contradicting you nor him i just really cant afford to replace things cause of a heat issue when i can prevent them so id rather spend a bit more (not too much lol ) to make sure i do the best i can to protect it.

but again i have no idea where to start , temps are always decent , Gpu never above 70 cpu running a lower processor state percentage never over 65 but id like to be able to run my cpu at 100% without it over heating

Ryzen 3600 at full blast is one thing, running games is another.

Still, the coolers I recommended are inexpensive and effective. I've used the Gammaxx 400 models a few times, not been disappointed. Vertoo is a nearly complete clone to the popular Hyper 212 from Cooler Master.

Adding some heatsinks to the VRMs, these are just powering secondary voltages, will give you peace of mind, probably won't do much. Your primary VRMs, while there aren't many of them, are covered by a heat sink. You can also point a fan directly at them.

One of the reasons to keep a downdraft cooler instead of a tower cooler is that it passes more air over the VRMs and RAM.

Masterbox isn't terrible, the front fans are back from the front panel, there are gaps to let the air in. A lot better than a lot of cases these days.

You could also try undervolting the CPU a bit, as long as it is stable. That would bring power and temperature down.

If you really want to swap the motherboard out, maybe something like this:

okay i have looked at those recommendations im thinking of going with the downdraft cooler but heres a better explanation cause after my stroke my wording isnt very clear on how it was before.

the pc has always been pretty decent until i upgraded the video card , psu and added a second monitor , when i just had the 1660 i could keep the cpu at 100% on high performance setting in power options and everything ran cool, i then upgraded to the 3060Ti with a better psu and the second monitor and now if i run the cpu at 100% in processor state in advance under power options area the cpu spikes to 75- 80 degrees celcius, so i have lowered the processor state to 95% on min and maxium which does keep everything cool and i dont really notice a performance issue, so i dont know if its the excess heat from the videocard (even though it runs cooler than the 1660) the backplate is way longer so maybe the heat from the card is heating up the cpu? i dont know tbh , so i made a thread and what i stated was said about the cooler and the motherboard ... as far as asrock have they improved? i had one in my old pc and it lasted like 4 months ? i have about a $400 dollar budget for a motherboard and a cpu cooler would like to be about $300 but can squeeze $400 and also maybe a case as when i put the 3060ti in the screws felt like they wanted to strip out im sure i could fix the holes but i just really want something mid tier that i dont have to worry about that runs smooth and cool.
