Hi,

Planning on upgrading my system to a i5-2500k for gaming at 1920x1080. I have a primary SATA hard drive and a IDE PATA drive I use for downloading and sharing on my home network. I don't want to buy a new HD with the prices kinda high as they are now. I'm pretty much maxed on my budged as it.

I only saw a couple of P67/Z68 that have a legacy IDE port and the ASRock fatal1ty was one of them. Is this a good board to get or should I get something like an ASUS or Gigabyte Z68 motherboard and just add an IDE pci card? I do plan to overclock and would be happy with a 4.5ghz+ OC. I currently use a Gigabyte motherboard and it's been one of the best I've ever had.

I got the z68 Asrock Fatal1ty Professional for it's inclusion of some old tech with the latest and greatest. It also has an IDE port, and a PATA port as well so you can still have a floppy drive on board. Can't speak to the p67 version, but I highly, highly, highly recommend the z68 version of this board.

I agree with roscolo--Z68 is the way to go. I would personally stay away from an IDE PCI card, only because it could end up getting in the way at some point and just causing hassle, but again that's personal preference.
