Trying my first motherboard repair on my own.
Any thoughts on what to do here?

Buy a new board. You wouldn't have the tools to repair that level of damage. It looks like the board started to melt due to a short and there are probably damaged traces. Motherboards are composed of multiple layers to accommodate the thousands of traces and repairing anything that is not on the surface is impossible to repair (even probably with advanced tools) as you would need to get into the many layers and re-do the traces.
