Hi folks,

I have a new motherboard that won't recognize my HDD or SSD. I've tried everything I can think of.
Looking through other posts here, none of the fixes have worked for me.

Build:
ASRock Z270 Extreme 4 Brand New
WD Blue 1TB HDD
PNY 120Gb SSD
Corsair RM750x Brand New
Brand new RAM, CPU yadda yadda yadda...

Have tried:
Different new SATA cables
Different new SATA power cables
Different SATA ports
Updating BIOS
RAID mode off
HDD & SSD work on another build**
Different SSD does not work on this build**

...So like I said, I can't think of anything else. Took the new motherboard, CPU, RAM and PSU out of the box today so needless to say this is frustrating. Open to any and all ideas.

Solution
1. It would be a great help to potential responders to your query if you explained just what the problem is, other than "my new motherboard that won't recognize my HDD or SSD".

2. What I'm saying is don't talk in generalities. Be specific as to the details of the problem.

3. Explain what's the intended functions of the SSD & the HDD. Are you attempting to install an OS onto the SSD (Win 10?). So is that the basic problem in that you're unable to do so? If so, how are you going about it (be precise) and what is the problem or problems you encounter?

4. And the intended function of the HDD? To be serving as a secondary drive in the system? Does it contain data and/or an OS?

So please. You've described the components in your system...

So please. You've described the components in your system very well. Now tell us precisely what's the specific problem? Set aside "motherboard non-recognition". Tell us about how you're going about installing the OS and the DETAILS of how you're going about it. (Assuming the preceding is the specific problem you're grappling with). Capiche?
