Hi,
I developed an issue a few months back where my machine does not power on from the case switch or wake from sleep any more. The only way I can power on or wake the machine is by switching the PSU I/0 switch on and off before it starts, sometimes taking multiple switches before it starts.
I have had the machine and the PSU tested by two different technicians with conflicting results. The first technician who I sent my whole machine back to seemed fairly confident that the PSU is at fault by testing the machine with another PSU and not having the issue. He suspects it was a PSU protections IC misfire/malfunction.
So I sent the PSU back to where I purchased it from as the tech there wanted to test it. He tested it on 3 different machines and could not replicate the fault. Everybody including myself are at a total loss as to what is wrong here. It seems as though it is the Seasonic X-660 KM that just doesn't agree with something in my machine.
Another thing I noticed one day was that the case's switch lights power light was much dimmer than the disk read light right next to it. It's as though there is a power issue that has caused it to go dimm possibly being an indication to PSU issue?
This theory becomes unclear having had another PSU function normally in the machine though.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation or have any ideas on this? Could it be a bios update or setting that has caused this? I need to try to work out what is wrong before further RMA requesting etc.
Thanks!
