Motherboard seems unable to boot with processor. How?q

I have a big issue here. My motherboard(ASUS x79 Pro) isn't booting with the processor(I7 3930k), only if the processor cable(from PSU) is unattached. I already have replaced my Psu with another one. The pc worked fine first 10 days, but instantly when I came back from my dad's house to my mom's house it suddenly received this problem, strange ... Well, if I put the processor cable in the processor input, and then power on, it would just inmediatly shut himself down, like it's having a short circuit. I have tried everything out, and nothing seems to be working.

How can I fix this?

Have you transported the pc? If yes, and using a heavy CPU cooler, shocks during transportation can damage the CPU socket.

Yea, I did... Hmm that sounds very logically to me. Is it fixable? And are you sure it's the motherboard? I mean I'm hoping if it's not fixable that that it's the processor I mean the motherboards are sooo rare and expensive.

You can try re-seating the CPU and CPU cooler.

Is there a case speaker connected to the motherboard? If not, try connecting one. This way, you'd know if CPU and board do work.
