[SOLVED] Motherboard shorts when cpu clamped

When connecting I7 4770k with Socket clamp, board shorts.

Only happens when pressure is placed on the cpu.

Was wondering if someone has had this problem before, and if it was deemed CPU or Motherboard related..

Unfortunately, I cannot test with another cpu/motherboard as of now.

So it's a problem with either your motherboard or your CPU. Is the cooler made to suit your CPU?

Yup! Had this whole system running a few months back

Remove your cooler and inspect the cooler and the CPU for any signs of shorting.
Check the motherboard socket too.
Try another CPU cooler.
Try another motherboard.
Try another CPU.
