I've been looking at motherboards lately, and the size always confuses me. So can someone set me straight, and whats the difference between mATX and ATX. The specific motherboards im looking at are the: AsRock Z97 Pro4, AsRock z97m Anniversary.

ALSO: Whats the difference between the anniversary edition of the board and the regular Z97m?

Matx is micro atx form factor. The boards are smaller and do not offer the same amount of options or expansion slots. A matx board may only have 4 sata ports, where as the atx board will have 6-8 usually. The matx board will usually only have one PCIe(2.0/3.0) slot as well so you will be limited in what you can add to the board. An atx board usually has around 3, which can allow for a second video card and a sound card if needed for example. Usually a matx board is not that great for overclocking, but recently that has changed with a few models that have come out. matx/atx will fit in any mid-full tower atx case as well, just in case you are wondering. Hope this clears up some of your questions. :)
