Hello i have a z270e strix and the power switch is not working and i have to use a screwdriver now but it turns on like 1 out of 4 times so when it doesnt work the first time i disconnect the power cable from the wall so the whole thing completely shuts down then i turn it back on to try. IF it starts 2 out of 5 times it will turn on the red cpu led but other time it works really fine

No bent pins, cpu copper plate is well tightened not too much also ive read that using screwdrivers should instantly turn it on whereas mine it doesnt how can i fix this problem. Thanks

It took me 15 minutes to turn it on this morning screwdriver wont work like before and when i got angry and hit the top case of the pc it turned on but of course it didnt detect the ssd but booted it back and it found them. But please i can't do this forever

ok in bios go to boot menu, find after a/c power loss boot type. Change box to normal boot. Then you can try and unplug pc, wait a couple of minutes, then plug back in. See if it starts up. Also what happens if you use on/off switch on psu?
Im just gonna play a bit because i was trying for 15 min to turn it on now im scared it wont boot again but ill try soon and will let you know

PS: Is the H270 asrock fatality good? there is . one for 80 bucks

I just did it and it already was on normal boot but still now its becoming frustrating i have to hit the top of my case for that mobo to turn on and my psu doesnt have a switch its working perfectly

10/10 would not recommand asus board its not normal its happening until then im stuck with this defective product

Not yet i woke up the morning and it was not fixed the board was still on power button didn't work had to use a screwdriver which also took alooooot of time. Now I teared the whole PC down bcuz im gonna sell the board but i did try one more time and by my surprised it work with only the CPU so i turned the board off left it for an hour to see if it would again, it did not. The board is sitting on the box with all the components connected (vga, ram, ssd, cpu) and also it turned on after 30 min first try it did not but i just removed the pwr cable switch and it turned on again for the first time. Now it is off with all the components still connected and ill try in 10 minutes to turn it on if it did turn on for the first time maybe i mis-installed it if not then the board is faulty.

It is very weird as it has lots of booting problem such as powering off on its own while booting or the cpu red led turning on and staying, not reading SSD so booting into BIOS directly or taking up to 3 minute to boot into windows if it works

That fixed the power button/switch problem too? This thread can be marked as solved?

Ok no it was my mistake but leave it open i forgot to plug the power cable for vga and cpu but but but it did turn on fine and with the case button
Ill do further test with some time between them and then ill try to mount it to the case and hopefully it works
Thanks

Update: I put the motherboard back into my PC added all the parts 1 by 1 and it was working and even now however im taking a break doing like before letting it rest a bit the pc is off but the power still go throu the board so im gonna wait 20 minutes and try to turn it on. If everything works then thread can be closed

It seems like my PC might be fixed so since ive surfed the web alot about this problem and almost no one had a solution I wanna try and give some fix:

-Update BIOS asap (It had a major impact on the fix)
-Check like really check all the cables, u might be like me saying whats this about cable im not stupid just check em u wont lose anything
-Remove the mobo and all components from the case start doing the tests while the mobo is laying on its box
-Talk to support (Asus support were really good help)
-When doing tests try each components alone
-USE ALL THE SCREWS ON THE MOBO especially if ATX you might need 8 or 9 screws dont miss one

This might take alot of time to do but its worth it i have been struggling for 4 days now with this mobo that was sold to me defected but i managed to fix it and it was amazing it was either staying with the z270 strix or going back to biostar h110M so please do try all the fix
Can someone close the thread?

Good luck to all and happy gaming!
