Okay ive got an asus z87 gryphon, the problem started after i installed windows 8.1...the onboard audio now notifies me device plugged in, device removed, over and over...yet i have no device plugged into the jacks, when i do plug headphones in it continues doing this, sound comes in for a little then cuts off, back on back off. ive tried reverting back to windows 8, doesnt help, ive tried reinstalling drivers, doesnt help, ive tried resetting cmos doesnt help, the only thing that works is disabling azalia/ port controller option thing or unpluging the hd audio cord from the motherboard..but then i cant use speaker or headphones. Audio wroks properly out the hdmi connection to tv using nvidia or intel drivers, thats it... If anyone has experienced this shoot some suggestions..im not trying to rma, or buy a new motherboard just for this. Will a usb dac work? external soundcard? any idea why its not working and how to fix...what you think is the best option
